Goan Food & Crafts Festival - GHRSSIDC LTD had organised a Goan Food & Crafts Festival at Dilli Haat at New Delhi from 5th to 10th Oct 2011. The festival had 15 stalls by Goan Handicraft Artisans for display and sale of Handicrafts as well as a Aunthentic Goan Food Stall and cultural programs by Goan musicians & dancers.The concept of the festival was to give the visitors a taste of Goan Culture. Marketing & Design Development - The GHRSSIDC organised a one day workshop on " Marketing &Design Development " for artisans & self help groups from South Goa at N.D Naik Hall, Malbhat, Margao on 23rd December 2011 from 10:00 am to 5:00pm. Around 500 artisans from south goa participated in the workshop. The work shop was inaugurated bySmt Asha Kamat in the presence of Shri Sameer Salgaocar, Chairman,GHRSSIDC, Shri Nikhil Desai, MD,GHRSSIDC LTD and Directors, Shri Devendra Kenkre and SHri Deepak Desai.The workshop consisted of lectures by DR BBL Madhukar, Ex Chairman & MD,MMTC as well as founder of various premium management institutes in India and Shri Rahul Barua, Secretary General ,South Asia Foundation.Mr Nilkant Parab,KVIB,Mr Bhaskar Parab,NABARD and Mr Anil Tendulkar ,EDC explained the schemes of their respective departments.Mr Netalkar,Founder of Omkar Arts,an NGO explained various schemes of Central Government for the artisans. The workshop also had live demonstrations by master craftsmen of Coconut Craft, Sea Shell Craft, Candle Making and Bamboo Craft.The artisans were sensitized on marketing techniques, entrepreneurship aspects, design development parameters, financing and other related aspects. Documentary- Goa Handicrafts, Rural and Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (GHRSSIDC) has produced a documentary film on Aparant- Goan Handicrafts with financial assistance from Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles. The documentary film which has been produced in HD and Digibeta format was released on 03/05/10 at the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa Shri Digambar Kamat at Maquinez Palace auditorium, Panaji, Goa .The English documentary has been produced at a total cost of approx 14.5 lakhs by Mahatta Media Solutions New Delhi and will very soon be dubbed in 3 additional languages namely Konkani, Marathi and Hindi. The documentary is the first of its kind on Goan handicrafts and will be used to extensively promote Goan handicrafts within the country and abroad. |

Release of Maps, Brochures and Pamphlets on Goan Handicrafts - The Chief Minister also released copies of maps, brochures and pamphlets on Goan Handicrafts which have been printed by the GHRSSIDC with financial assistance from Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles. A total of 30000 maps, 20000 brochures and pamphlets have been printed in an attractive format for promotion of Goan Handicrafts. The maps will be made available at New Delhi Metro Railways Stations and important hotels of Delhi so as to actively promote Goan Handicrafts in the lucrative market of New Delhi. The maps, brochures and pamphlets will be kept at APARANT Emporia, Exhibitions, Trade Shows, etc and will also be sent to International clients. |

Subsidy Scheme for Clay Ganesh Idol Makers The Chief Minister also distributed the subsidy cheques to beneficiaries under the Subsidy Scheme for Clay Ganesh Idol Makers for the year 2009 -2010.Under this scheme a subsidy of Rs 100 per idol is provided to artisans per year subject to a maximum subsidy amount of Rs. 15000/- per artisan as per predefined criteria. This scheme is implemented through GHRSSIDC with the aim of revival of the traditional art of clay idol making and to ensure its continuity apart from ensuring gainful employment to traditional artisans. Under the scheme a total of 437 artisans will be benefited and the subsidy amount disbursed will be Rs.41.82 lakhs for the financial year 2009-10. The scheme will also be implemented during the financial year 2010-11. After the function the documentary film on Goan Handicrafts was screened for the press and the other invitees. |
